In the heart of the Auvergne, "Music-valley" is the High valley of the river Allier, from Brioude to Langeac, in the department of Haute Loire. It covers the communes of Brioude, Vieille Brioude, Saint Ilpize, Villeneuve d'Allier, Blassac, Lavoûte Chilhac, Chilhac, Aubazat, Reilhac, and Langeac.
Well away from any mass tourism area, this part of the Auvergne has no large hotels or holiday resorts; accommodation in this area is in small hotels, gites and holiday cottages, bed and breakfast accommodation or campsites
